How to stake KAVA tokens with Leap wallet
KAVA can be staked using all Cosmos-native wallets and several non-native wallets, like Trust wallet and Atomic. It’s important to note that using a Cosmos-native wallet, like Leap will give you the most functionality.

IMPORTANT: NEVER stake all of your tokens. You will need a little KAVA to claim your rewards! Remember, KAVA is the gas token required to pay for transactions so you need some at your wallet address. It’s good practice to leave the spare change to the right of the decimal and stake round numbers.

KAVA tokens give validators like us, the power to originate and sign blocks. As more and more KAVA tokens are staked, the chain becomes more secure so rewards are paid to those who staked. The rewards are the incentive to help secure the chain. When you delegate to a validator and stake your KAVA, the token’s voting power is assigned to your validator. However, you can still vote on network proposals yourself, if you choose. Your vote trumps your validator’s vote.

For those who are comfortable with self-custody, the best place to stake KAVA is with a Cosmos-native wallet, like Leap, Keplr or Cosmostation. Native wallets will give you the most functionality.
